Angry Beware SiriusXM "Account Hold" (RANT)

Greatings All,

Would like to share an unpleasant experience withe SiriusXM.

I begin by admitting that this is completely my fault for not paying attention to the calendar. I share this story only to highlight how important it is to follow-up with account issues with SiriusXM.

Back in Febuary of this year I inadvertantly destroyed my XM Skydock satellite radio. I called SiriusXM to cancel my account. The representative tried to give me a discounted replacement radio which I declined. He then, with my permission, put a two-month "hold" on my account. This time period was for me to decide if I was going to purchase another satellite radio and resume SiriusXM service. After two-months, the account charges would resume if I did not call back. (Guess what I forgot to do? )

Flash forward to today....

At any rate, I kept receiving emails from SiriusXM and was unable to "unsubscribe" from their emails so I called today. Imagine my surprise when I was informed that my account and radio was still active for the last four months! When I finally got to speak to someone who could actually close my account I was even offered another radio.

Okay, like I said in the beginning, I accept my part in all of this.

My point is: When dealing with SiriusXM, especially about account closures/cancellations, be prepared to deal with the "account hold" option, including the follow-up actions. Otherwise, you will be charged.

Rant complete.

They tried to charge me $550.00 for a 5 year subscription which I had not authorized, the card number had been changed.......I called and told them I would sue them if they ever attempted to charge anything to me without permission.......cancelled the remaining subscription.....will never go back. MP3s for me....

the exact reason I let my CC expire. They now send me a statement and I pay it with a money order.
