Re: Welcome - Show your scoots...

OK, a more recent photo taken after the Ilium bars and footpegs were put on, the phone mount mounted and the Isotta top case luggage rack was installed. My new phone charging plug is even in the photo. This was taken in the Sierra Nevada foothills east of Sacramento at one of my favorite deli lunch stops. You can see that the Sierra ski resorts are very happy with the result of the last few storms that came our way.

What a great shot you should frame that one.

Wunderlich Microflooters.

Ain't. Worth. Shit.

I thought they would be a good alternative to Clearwater Darla's (especially since these are over $500), but they suck serious ass; no useful illumination at all. Even worse is that they won't take them back.

Smart man.

They look really nice and seem to look more integrated than anything out there, even the lights from BMW, but as mentioned, useless for what I needed them to do, that's why the Erica's are on. These are still on because it's more work to take them off than what it's worth.

Iím new to the BMW world. Really wanted the Sparkle Storm Metallic, but the closest I found was in Nashville. So, in November I picked up this beauty and rode 815 miles home. Snapped this pic along the way. They even hooked me up with a color matched top box. Absolutely loving it!

I agree.
Have just a few things on my list for it. Engine and pannier guards, Clearwater lights, and dash cam should all be done this winter.

I did the Clearwaters. Installed Krista's and Darla's. Hardest part was installing the mirror brackets for the Krista's. The electrical part was really easy.

If you were talking to me those are Clearwater Darlas. Not cheap but best out there. Check out their website.

Yes it is the 'Ebony Black' colour which has red in it, unlike the later 'Carbon Black' that has blue in it.

Here is my 1 month old R1250RT.

In process to get a tailored seat (the OEM is way too hard for me).
Still need to add some engine guards, but I donít know yet which ones to select.

My new 2018 R1200RT. I was contemplating the 2019 but found the deals on the 2018 too hard to pass up, including an additional $500 rebate for being a BMW MOA member... just in time for another round of record cold temperatures in the midwest.

Got the 28 liter top box lid painted the same as the bike. It sure looks better. I now have both the 49 liter & the 28. I should be done with installs unless I get a different windscreen. Looks like weather may finally be warming up... Come on spring. Letís ride

Some donít like the tan/brown seat I think itís really classy . Does anyone know if the tan seat is the same as the black or does it have shape or extra padding ?

Just purchased and picked up my 2017 R1200RT TODAY! New to BMWs so looking forward to riding these amazing machines.

This is a really crappy picture, but I can't help myself to say hi so here it is in my garage lol My goal is to take it out to one of my favorite spots tomorrow and get a good picture of it.

A complete 180 as far as the type of bike.. I actually had a 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere, I won't say its like the 1200GS casue someone might delete my forum account I'm a big guy, 6'4" 280lb so the Tenere appealed to me and at the time I was in no place to drop a ton of money on a GS. I liked my Tenere, but I could never get a good ride with it, 30min and my back was really hurting. Even did risers, seats, pegs, never could get it right. That and the engine breaking was just god awfully abrupt.

I went out today and road about 100 miles messing around. The exhaust note on this thing is amazing, I normally grandpaw my bikes hardly get over 4k RPM, but now this thing is ridding at 6 or 7 Also discovered that doing such in 6th gear means you are driving at 120mph lol I swear it felt like I was doing 50 in my truck, amazing ride... Tenere I would know how fast I was going, this bike the only way to know is to look at the speedo It already has basically everything on it, but I'm really missing my tankbag and topbox....

Posted a pic of the Tenere, hopefully a Yamaha bike won't break the forum. Its in the same location, love taking pics at that spot.

Hey I have 2012 Kawasaki 650 Versys I use for local stuff. Its ok but doesn't come close to the RT.

Re: Welcome - Show your scoots...

I hope I am posting in the right place. I joined this forum years ago but have been absent for far too long.

I’m very excited as I replaced my 2013/ 90th anniversary RT with a brand new r 1250 RT! I am thrilled that the dramatic differences in two engine generations.

I picked up the bike in Toronto on Friday and rode over the May long weekend with friends through western Pennsylvania for a break in period. I then returned to my dealer for the 1000 km check in and rode home to Kingston. Unfortunately I now left the next day by car to Winnipeg and haven’t been home since. As you could imagine, I can’t wait to get home.

On the way home I am picking up a Clearwater Billie Junior brake light Kit.

How do I attach a picture to any future post?

Cheers
