Daily Trivia: What is this?

I was putting my RT back together after changing the headlight, and this wire was hanging down

I found where it clips in and protrudes into the right side radiator vent inlet.

Is this an air temp sensor?

The photo rotated 90 degrees while uploading, and what you see is the right fork tune, and radiator behind.

That is the temp sensor... Snap in back into the hole in the plastic.

There should be a mounting clip on the right lower fairing right where the upper and lower overlap (kind of behind where the roundel is.

Edit: That's where it is on a Hex/Camhead. I don't recall offhand what generation your ride it.

He has a wethead, and so that sensor fits right into the hole as mentioned above.

Thanks,

I just clipped it back in. I was pretty sure that's what it was, and suspected that it went into that hole, but wanted to be sure.

It had gotten knocked out at some point, while I was changing the lowbeam bulb.
