R1250RT Spark plugs

I was going through the manual of my new R1250RT and saw that the spark plug replacement interval went from 40,000km on my Hexhead to 20,000km on the Shiftcam.
I find this a very short life span for spark plugs. It means a new set every year for me.

Daniel

If you can park it, and not turn around to admire it before walking away, you bought the wrong one.

Re: R1250RT Spark plugs

Talk is to use NKG LMAR9AI-8
$15 on EBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NGK-Iridium...sAAOSwmXteAQCp
Then there is the warranty issue if something goes wrong. Up to the rider.

...or you can get them from Amazon for a little less and not have to worry about falling victim to some EBay scam.

Why would there be a warranty concern? I didn't look up the plug for the 1250, is this one not it?

Not the same

The one you refer to is:
NGK LMAR9AI-8

The manual for the R1250RT states :
NGK LMAR8AI-10

Lower heat rating, larger spark plug gap

Re: R1250RT Spark plugs

My experience of iridium plugs suggest they last >50k miles. Two reasons to fit them - better spark for longer and extended longevity.

The older you get, the more you know and the less you need.

But, you are only using half as many!

I realized that after my first post. It should end up the same in the end
