Engine fault light

I started the bike this to go to the store......of course......being in a hurry.......I tried to start it wi the side stand down. Side stand up, bike started, rode to store and home. Noticed the engine fault light on, steady yellow.......All seemed good does this light reset itself after being shut off for awhile or is it neccessary to have the dealer reset it ?

Re: Engine fault light

2019 RT......Took to the dealer this morning. Diagnostic said electrical fault /fuel pump. The tech told me that it should have cleared itself and gone to memory since the bike is running just fine. He also said that he has had about a half dozen of these in the past month, 2019 boxers, with the same thing.......might be a software problem...Oh well, the adventure continues!

Re: Engine fault light

I rented a '19 R1250RT in the past weeks and it had the engine light warning too. The warning came back after a computer reset.
According the the dealer I rented from, it's a known software issue that should be fixed by an update.

Ride safe!
