Dashboard Resetting

Inexplicably and intermittently my dashboard settings revert back to close to factory default on my '17 RTW.

Settings such as the digital speedo, (when to) shift indicator (I rarely use it, but like to see it nonetheless), quick link (diamond icon) to chosen settings category, etc.

Anyone experience the same things? Any thoughts on what's causing it?

How's your battery? Still holding a decent charge?

Re: Dashboard Resetting

That's what I found when my battery was getting close to being kaput - some, not all, starts would reset the dash. This behaviour stopped after the battery diedcand was replaced. Btw, I only got two years out of the battery ( but just over 100,000kms )

Re: Dashboard Resetting

Good call guys on the dashboard resetting being due to the battery. Bike's in for new tires and I had them test the battery - it failed.

Only 2 1/2 years old and the battery warranty is only 2 years. Strange since it's always on a trickle charger when garaged.

Bummer but better than being stuck somewhere.

Re: Dashboard Resetting

This actually happened to me the other day while I was going down the road. Dash shut off and came back on, set to factory settings. Good to know it may be the battery, but mine is only a year or so old. Now I'm going to get it checked out.

Re: Dashboard Resetting

Its the battery's way of saying good bye and time for a new one. I just had the same thing happen. Save yourself the headache and just spring for a new one. I did not buy a BMW battery. I got a Yuasa from the Honda shop... GYZ-16H
