100,000 Foot ride in Colorado

Has anyone done the 100,000 foot ride in Colorado? I'm registered for the event on 6 August. I'd welcome a PM from others who've done this ride. I understand that it's a 500 mile ride and runs through some spectacular routes. Since it's an "at your pace ride" how is the route shared with participants? I'd welcome the chance to ride with some locals who know the area. I'm riding out from VT just for the event and then heading back. I'll have to leave a longer trip for another visit. Thanks.

It's a great ride! You'll go over several mountain passes and there aren't many straight roads. Pack your rain gear as there is a chance you'll need it. There will be riders on bikes from numerous manufacturers since it's such a popular ride and you'll meet lots of great people!

Re: 100,000 Foot ride in Colorado

Any recommendation for a Denver area BMW dealer? I anticipate needing 6K and/or tire change for the quick trip VT-CO-VT. I noticed there is Foothills BMW/Triumph and BMW of Denver. I'd like to get a recommendation from you CO riders. Thanks.

Re: 100,000 Foot ride in Colorado

I did a 125,325 foot, 12 pass ride in one day a few years ago on my 02 LT. Only took a 620 mile loop and didn'tít go over the same pass twice. It was a great day in the Rockies!!!

I have a 173,306 foot, 16 pass ride I plan on doing around the up coming 2013 solstice. Looks like a long day on the LT. Start with Juniper, Gueanella, Kenosha, Red Hill, Currant Creek, Monarch, North, Spring, Slumgullion, Cottonwood, Trout Creek, Hoosier, Vail, Tennessee, Freemont and Loveland.

Looks like a lot of up and down!

See attachment for details on the old ride. I'll do the same with the new route.
