Seeking WY, SD insider information

My wife and I are going to the CCR which is in Rapid City, SD Sept 1-4. We plan to head west a week or ten days in advance of that. We are leaving our SUV and trailer in Rapid City and riding our LT over through Wyoming to the Jackson Hole area. We would like to see that area, maybe ride the loops around Yellowstone, and head back for CCR, taking a different route back. Any routing suggestions, sight seeing recommendations, and lodging and eating favorites would be appreciated.

Re: Seeking WY, SD insider information

BE aware of the road construction in Yellowstone, the road from Madison to Norris wil be closed to traffic due to major renovation and bridge installation. You might have to reconsider, Mt Washburn often has snow on it at that time of year, but the view is worth it.
We go at least twice a year, and never fail to see grizzlies and wolves in the Tower and Lamar areas.

At least I thought I was dancing, til someone stepped on my tongue.

If you make it to Jackson Hole, stop in at the Cowboy Bar and eat an Elk or Buffalo burger.
