2014 49L Top Case Dismantling

Has anyone had any experience removing the top section of a BMW 49L top case from the bottom section? I would like to separate the top from the bottom to paint. Mainly, it is the hydraulics that are giving me a fit. Everything else is just a few screws, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the hydraulic arms to separate from top nor bottom. I don't want to get medieval on it, but I will if I don't get any help.
