Bluetooth Helmets

Does anyone know if there are any bluetooth helmets available? BMW makes one but doesn't export them to the US.

Bluetooth

If your just looking for bluetooth for your phone in a helmet, I just purchased a Carlo Scala Rider Bluetooth from Ebay a couple of weeks ago. Tested it out last week on a ride talking to the wife. Was doing around 60-65 on a 2 lane road when I called her. She thought I was in my office and hadn't left yet. the sound quality was great she said. I had the windshield up, so I lowered it so I was getting full wind in my face and asked her how it sounded then. She said she could here some slight wind noise, but was still very good.

My initial call with the unit I had trouble hearing my son, but once I realized I didn't have the volume turned up problem was quickly fixed. If you just looking for phone then this is a good cheap option.

My set up is on a Sy-max helmet and was easy to install as well.

Good luck on your hunt.

I will second the Scala recomendation. I don't have the rider, just the normal BT headset. Of course this doesn't work on the bike, but it works well overall and the price is great ($40). I was thinking of getting the Rider unit and I am glad to see someone is happy with it.

Even if BMW would export them the complete system is very expensive with more than 700€ (EURO) ... and in the near future we will see more systems hopefully from baehr.

I posted this link in another place on this site, but here it is again.

This is by far the best solution IF you have a comm system and don't want another speaker in your helmet. This one uses your existing sound system and pipes everything into your helmet speakers. You can clip it to your tank bag and it only takes one touch to activate your phones "speak a command". When it rings, it mutes your music and you hear the phone ring.

Plus, it doubles as a speaker phone when not plugged into your sound system. i.e. Take it off the bike when you are parked, use it for a speaker phone. Much better than my Motorola phone speaker set up.
