NP Air back protector

I had a problem with my BMW Airshell jacket. The zipper pull broke off and BMW warrantied through the dealer I bought the jacket from.

My jacket came with the orange BMW NP Air protectors, including the back pad.

Since it was within the 2 year warranty period, BMW /dealer sent me a new jacket, but forgot to return my back pad.

I emailed the parts manager who was apologetic and sent out a replacement pad. It came today and is completely different BMW pad than the NP air back pad.

It is covered in blue fabric, on one side and gray on the other, it has no vent holes is but much thinner and less substantial than the NP air pad which is much thicker and included ventilation holes.

It is marked CE and the part # is 72 60 7 671 325.

Does anyone know how this replacement pad compares to the NP protectors.

I feel like I want my NP Air pad back!
