Do You Have This Problem With Your C3??

I have a new Schuberth C3 and noticed that after a few rides that the sun shade had a haze on the flip shade. It was very evident when riding into the sun. I took some Plexis and it cleaned right up.

About three rides later the haze is back but it seems to be only on the inside. I will clean it today.

Is this normal?

Not as bad as you described, but I have cleaned mine several times. I keep a microfiber towel in my "tool" bag and have it handy when needed. Normally it's in a zip lock bag. The film could be coming from the different material vapors in the helmet. Probably just airing out the helmet will help.

Thanks for referencing that thread. Yes, the haze did show up again after riding in the rain. Guess I will have to watch for that.

I read on Shuberth site that you should store your helmet with the visor cracked open. I guess this will help the off gassing to not build up and leave a film. I also read somewhere not to use cleaners. I have been carrying a clean and moistened microfiber cloth in a ziplock and another to dry the screen.

Mine is almost 2 years old and it will still haze over after a few rides, but I just wipe it off and all is good.

It is similar to a new SCUBA diving mask for the first few dives. We generally rub it pretty well, for the first few dives, with toothpaste..... then spit.... Works for me...

BUT, DON'T do that to your motorcycle's helmet.

I have that issue despite washing the sun shield with warm water and dish liquid detergent.
This never happened with my Caberg...
Disappointing to say the least as these helmets are pricey.

One other thing that I noticed with the fogging is that I now store the helmet inside the house and it has not fogged up once. Maybe the higher moisture in the garage contributed to the fogging?
