Question Shoei Qwest Mod?

Thought I'd pose this somwehat off-beat somewhat ridiculous , but serious question to Shoei Qwest helmet owners. I picked up a Qwest and like everything about it except the foam above the speaker recesses catches and fold my ears down when I put it on. (It's OK to laught guys, I can take it). It's the right size helmet for my head and fits well except for this issue. Has anyone had this problem and, if so, how did you get around it? I don't want to cut into the foam to shave it since I'd have to cut the fabric, but that's a possibility. I haven't installed the headset yet, which might keep everything on plane and alleviate the problem...not sure yet since I'd have to cut the helmet interior to install the autocom set. I have 30 days to return the helmet if I can't make it work, but I like the lid except for this. Thanks.

You can try an Under Armour skull cap, mine can cover the top of my ears, as a bonus it helps keep the helmet liner from direct contact with your hair and it's washable. It may hold your ears tighter to your head while you helmet up.

+1, I use something similar. Is a very thin fabric tube with two open ends about 15 inches long. Put it on my head and pull it down over my ears. Is coled here in Europa neck warmer (Halswärmer)

Wow....never even thought about the skull cap and I've got one in the gear chest! Losing whatever the 1970's left of my brain obviously.
