Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

Just wondering if anyone out there has picked up a new NEOTEC yet.
Pros/Cons?

I was dead set on a Schuberth C3 but not so sure now after trying a few
different sizes on. It's not fitting me right.

So, the NEOTEC looks like a pretty am good bucket, and really
like the price.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

Just got mine. Only been on one ride but my first impressions are:
Great airflow and I mean great
Sun shield is excellent. Dark enough and very clear.
I measured a Large but it was to small. XL fits well.
Fit and finish top notch
QUIET
Good looking lid.
Only problem is now the wife wants one...

GO HOGS!

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

Talking to the local dealer the NeoTec is almost as expensive as the C3. I'm waiting to see what the fitment is like on the NeoTec before purchasing anything. As the C3 has the the ability to have the self contained bluetooth collar attached, so that won't induce any kind of wind disruption like the other helmet attached bluetooth units do.

Different strokes for different folks, right?

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

My local dealer is telling me just a little over $100 less than
the Schuberth. Not that at that price, $100 matters for your grey matter.

As I understand it, I will not get the full functionality out of my OEM
XM and BMW NAV IV w/o going to a BMW Comm.
Believe me, if there was a cheaper option at this point, I'd go there.
I am in no way shape or form made of money.
But, it's exactly why I buy nothing but Apple products for my computers.
You may pay allot more - but without all the scabbing together
plugs, mounts, wiring and time - I'll have access to everything I've paid for.
Compromise in sound quality - I'll see.

I couldn't get the fit I wanted from Schuberth, and I wanted a Shuberth.
Hoping that Shoei can help with a modular bucket cause my ancient HJC is
way past the grave. I'm not 100% on the Neotec, but it sure looks like
a nice lid.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

I've had my Neotec a couple weeks and have ridden about 3 hours with it. I have a size large Multitec so I ordered the same for the Neotec. I find the fit between the two very close. The Neotec is a little tighter around my cheeks but that may be just because it's new. It's very comfortable. The built in speaker recesses made things easy compared to the surgery I had to do with my Multitec. It's the only helmet I've worn with a build in sun shade that comes down far enough for my liking. It does seem quieter than my Multitec. Shoei says it flows almost 300% more air than the Multitec. I was a little concerned before it arrived because in my experience the Multitec flows squat. 300 x 0 still = 0. Boy was I surprised. With the top vent open I could feel the air flow at 40 mph on my GSA. Kinda reminds me of the X-11 I used to own. Typical Shoei fit, finish and attention to detail. At just under $590 shipped to my door it is pricey. But if you're a Multitec fan the extra money for the Neotec is money well spent.

My Multitec was my favorite helmet of all time but I wished for an integrated sun visor...now I have one. I really, really like my Neotec.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

Very happy with my NeoTec. Never thought I would spend $600 for a hat but glad I did. The drop down sun visor is really nice. The helmet is quiet but has good ventilation. Not as light as a C3 but fits my round head better.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

I have a multitec with a replacement visor. It's the HI-DEFINITION orange visor that can be found on amazon.com .

I find that with this, I no longer need a sun visor, and the daylight seems crisper visually, even in low light. Its easy to swap this out for a clear visor in a few seconds for night riding.

Went with the neo tec, it fit my head better. Great shade and great airflow. Not as quiet as I had hoped. Overall fit and finish is great.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

This is me - still waiting for Shoei to catch up with back order.
Seems they did not anticipate such a high demand for XXL.

Sure hope my order is part of what was supposedly shipped
out on the 17th. My old bucket is trashed.

Got my eye on the Wine color.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

Kill the fatted calf, let the pigeons loose - helmet finally arrived.
Wine colored XXL and she's a beauty..... as brain buckets go.

Initial impressions:

Definitely feels heavier than my Sy-Max. Not that I've noticed that yet on
my nogin' - just carry it around. But the difference in fit and finish, along with
how quiet the Neotec is, makes up for the few more oz. for me.

Excellent air-flow. I actually feel the air moving through the helmet
and around my head. This will be great when it gets to be 100+ in the Summer.

The optics through the shield and internal sun visor
are great. Love the sun visor. I was always wearing sun glasses under
the shield and sometimes the polarization was making it hard to see the
bikes digital gauge.

I like that the chin curtain is completely removable.
Only a portion of the chin curtain is removable on the Schuberth.

The only problem I have with the Neotec is how dam quiet it is.
Unfortunately it impairs my enjoyment of my music through my
external speakers and I'm going to be forced to get myself
a nice BT unit to correct this.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

I've had one for a week now and have ridden with it on a naked bike and bikes with fairings and windshield. As mentioned several times the air flow is far superior to any on the helmet I've had. I mean not even close. In fact a potential problem is the even when you shut all the vents you still get air flow. This can be a problem in colder climes. Shoei offers a fix for this to block the air flow - contact their customer service.

The painted finish is so lovely it looks like it is molten. The quality of the helmet is commensurate with its high price tag.

I take a medium and I'm not chubby cheeked but the cheek pads do feel quite tight. Smaller and larger cheek pads are available but I'm holding off. I'm betting that after breaking in they will be just right.

I'm glad I got them.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

I know this is an old thread, but I am usually on Advrider. I got a Neotec last July and probably have about 4000 miles with it. It's the best helmet I've had and like a previous poster, I never thought I would spend that much money on a helmet. It was worth it. I am here looking for information on Sidi Tour Goretex boots if anyone has experience with them. Tried on a pair at the Chicago Motorcycle show last weekend and probably should have bought them.

Re: Anyone Got a Neotec Yet?

Sidi didn't fit my feet as good as Dainese. None of the local dealerships had the air model I wanted. But, I figured they would all be made the same way and ordered the TRQ race out air(?) which fit exactly like the Dainese's I tried on.

The only place I could fond a lower total cost to buy was in France? I figured that since I hadn't tried on the exact boot I wanted that it was safer to buy it in the USA.

It seems as if every USA dealer sells at only suggested retail price.

If anyone come across any dealers that are selling Sidi boots on sale please let us know.

I want a pair of their Canyon boots.
