LD Comfort vs Compression Shorts

Does anyone who current wears or has worn the LD Comfort shorts, have a comparison to wearing compression shorts such as Under Armour. On rides in summer and winter, I wear Under Armour compression shorts but keep wondering if the LD Comfort products are that much better. Opinions?

Re: LD Comfort vs Compression Shorts

I've used both, LD Comfort shorts are much better in my opinion. Where they shine is moisture management, the main source of monkey-but. Under Amour don't manage the moisture on long rides at all.

I've got 3 pairs of LD shorts, a riding buddy teased me that I needed special "panties" when I bought my BMW. I talked him in to buying a pair, I think he has 3 pairs now.

The LD Comfort shorts are also easy to wash in a hotel sink, then roll them in a towel and they will be dry the next morning.

I'll echo what Dave said. I only have one pair (don't know why one is called a pair) and they are comfortable. More so then any similar products that I have purchased. I've tried other similar products from Wally World and Sports Authority and they are better than cotton briefs, but not as good as the LD products. You can feel the quality.

Until I bought LD Comfort a couple years ago all I wore was Under Armor. I had perspiration problems before and the seams rubbed in the wrong places. LD Comfort beats the UA in every area of comfort for me (and I may add my wife speaks highly of the shorts, tights and the womans comfort top too). LDC is good stuff; it will keep you dry in the heat and wet it down and it will cool you off with evap cooling when you open just enough venting.

your results may vary...

Re: LD Comfort vs Compression Shorts

+++++ for LD Comfort Wear, have worn UA and other top brands and no comparison. UA and such are good products and have their applications. They also are better than wearing regular cotton products, but do not address motorcycling needs as well as LD Comfort.

Re: LD Comfort vs Compression Shorts

Thanks folks for the comments. I reread the webbikeworld review on LD Comfort and it was not exactly glowing but I think it was biased from the reviewers perspective. I'll give the shorts a try. Do you buy direct or is their an outlet for LD Comfort gear.

Re: LD Comfort vs Compression Shorts

I don't like any of 'em!! Under Armour, Nike, Jockey vented, they're all some type of synthetic (read plastic) material, that not only makes me hot and sweaty but cramps my guys so that every 5 minutes I have to stand up and shake loose. If I wear any underwear at all, it's plain cotton. I get NO rash and it's NOT hot. On long trips I carry Desenex, and not the creamy kind, get the one that smells like fish oil, (which it is). Put some of that stuff on, and your pants and I'm good to go forever. I think all this "compression short" stuff is just a gimmick.

Re: LD Comfort vs Compression Shorts

I have both. I use the UA for shorter day trips and have no problems with them at all. On longer trips I wouldn't use anything but LD comfort gear.

To each his own, I used to be a natural fiber kinda of guy, but with the new stuff there is absolutely no comparison, If the fit is right (LD Comfort) there is no compression or cramping of the guys, it keeps moisture away from the skin, and no need for cremes or powders which clog your pores and have their own side effect issues. If you want to talk gimmick, talk deer whistles.....and the rant begins...grin.
