Helmet Inquiry

I have a Shoei RF700 with the J&M headset.

Last weekend, helmet fell off of bike, now time for a new one anyway.

Can anyone recommend a helmet. Either a full-face of flip. I want it to be quiet (asking for much here) and work with the J&M headset.

I am thinking about the Shoei RF1000, TZ-R or Multitec.

Thanks

I've had the Nolan N102 for just over 2 years and love it. When it comes time to replace it i will go with the NOLAN N103 . They moved the tinted visor from the outside (on N102) to the inside. Of course I would want to try it on first to check the fit.

N102 here also. It's somewhat noisy but it fits my head really well. My next one will be the N103.

Re: Helmet Inquiry

Before you start looking at different brands I would recommend reading this first. I think it will be an eye opener.

I've bought Arai helmets for years since I thought they were the best on the market. I had no clue...

Here's some good stuff on helmet noise:

and general FAQs to consider:

Re: Helmet Inquiry

I luv my Aria's and the way they fit/feel over a 20 hour day...and that is the point to me. Lots of nice helmets out there but how long do you have to wear it each week. I'm around 20 hours+ normally so it matters.

I wear my multitec all the time now but...its not my fav helmet. The Corsair is. But that flipup option is just too good to pass up for gas, food, coffee, etc. Its nice to have the option of leaving it on. did I say coffee??

I think Shoei has that market cornered but I haven't owned other flipups, etc, either for comparo.

I also wear SZ-M Ram Aria's (flip up shield) for around town, etc, that is my all-time fav over any other helmet but I do like full-cov for hi-way/long trip type stuff.

wearing glasses all the time (like I do) will help you make your choice I think.

If you want a quiet helmet go with either the RF1000, or the TZR. I have both and they are great. I find my Multitech noisy at high speed.
