Re: Has anyone heard of Daytona Helmets?
I've never heard of Daytona Helmets until your post. I do own a Caberg Trip that I purchased from a UK vendor and had it shipped to the US. The Daytona Eclipse has the general shape of the Trip but the mechanism for the chin bar as well as the venting on the top of the helmet is quite different. IMAO the price of the Eclipse, if nothing else, leads me to believe that it is a cheap knock off. By the way, the Trip fits me perfectly and is fairly quiet (for a modular). However, I would not recommend buying one if you are in the US. I had the part that moves the inner visor break, and no one across the pond could be bothered to order a new one for me. Caberg takes the position that since the helmet is not DOT approved they will not support owners with issues here. I was able to glue the part back together and the visor works for now.
