Helmet Painting

I'm getting a new helmet for this year's riding season but I can't find a color that matches my bike. (Sand Beige R1200RT) Is it possible to have a helmet painted? I'm leaning towards the Shoei Multitec.

Yep. Just take it to a reputable body shop. Auto body shop this is.

Re: Helmet Painting

Be careful to check that your paint is compatible with the helmet structure. This is not normally an issue with fiberglass but the plastic helmets will lose their structural integrity if the wrong paint is used. You certainly don't need that if you actually have to use it for its intended purpose.

Re: Helmet Painting

I"m sure all the helmet manufacturers would tell you not to paint their helmet..

Just be carefull and use compatible materials.. Maybe buff it off and primer it first with something for sure compatible with the existing finish...You don't want to soften it up ...

I would ask the best in the business first. David Kinsey, here on the list and then ship it to him.
