Re: Widder going out of business

Yes, this sad event has been known for months. However as recently as last month I asked them to discount their merchandise (because no warrantly would apply) and they refused. [I needed only leg chaps to complete my collection -- the Widder stuff has been absolutely first class in quality.] So I do thank you for the link -- everything is now 35% off, which seems pretty fair.

Their kids didn't want to continue, and they wanted to retire. What amazes me is why they didn't sell the company to an ongoing firm. Perhaps they tried but there was no interested taker -- but that does surprise me a bit, as I think they have a devoted clientele.

When I rode out West in 2006, I stopped in Ojai,CA and checked in on them. A first class operation by all appearences!
