Chicane LT EX bag

Just bought one of these off another site. It did not come with installation instructions, although I could make an uneducated guess. Can someone post some pictures of this on the bike and maybe some hints on the best wat to attach it to the bike.

Thanks

Tom

Re: Chicane LT EX bag

I give it a stab.

The front of the bag should have either a fabric loop (early) or a small bungee chord loop (late). This hooks around the latch pin on the oddiments box. With the lid open and the loop around the pin, find the two velcro tabs on the opposite end of the bag from the loop. Place the full length (trust me) piece of mating velcro on the bottom of the lid where the two tabs can attach. Now if the lid won't close easily (early) cut clearance for the fabric strap in the plastic near the latch pin (it will be obvious). You should now be good to go.

Re: Chicane LT EX bag

What year is your bike? I have an 08 and was concerned about the visibility of the Nav III, not to mention the full lock position of the steering bars. I need access to the compartment to do iPOD stuff and thought this was going to be a problem. Anyway, PICs would be helpful, if any.

OK, I have been trying to find where to purchase one of these bags and end up at dead ends. Any good help would be appreciated.

The Chicane Brothers have seemed to fall off the face of the earth. But check with several of the BMW dealers around the country. I got mine from Sierra BMW a while back.

I attached some images. 3206 is cockpit view which does not obstruct the GPS screen. 3207 is full lock which can honk your horn. 3211 is a view of a notch that I filed in the lid so I could lock my oddiments box where I store my GMRS radio. You may have sufficient clearance - some LT's do, others do not. The others are self explanatory. One shows where I mount the Garmin GXM30 antenna (shown under the accessory map pocket). I also run power to the Chicane bag and fair lead the cord I made through the opening in the Chicane bag where the hose for a bladder is supposed to go. Also, i suggest puttting a strip off velcro (the hook portion) across the entire front of the inside top of the lid.
