It's time for new boots. Have narrowed my choices to the Sidi On-Road Gortex and Aerostich Combat Lite. Any feedback on either?

Re: Boots

I have a pair of On Roads. I certainly do love them. Obviously they are a bit pricey, but they wear quite well. With no experience in the other boots, I can't compare the two. It seems to me that Sidi makes a very good, leak proof boot in the On Road. They really are water proof.

Thumbs up Re: Boots

I purchased the Sidi On Road boots about 5 years ago after reading a review comparing boots in Rider Magazine. They are comfortable, have worn well, and are 100% waterproof. I've about worn them out and will buy another pair to replace them. Darn, sounds like an informercial. Maybe I should get some kind of paid endorsement?

Re: Boots

I've also got the Sidi On Roads. After 10 years and having them resoled twice, they are about to give up the ghost. They are comfortable, the only 100% boot I have been able to find, and if I price out the total cost of ownership (including the two resoles), it comes out to about $45 per year -- well worth the price.

However, the price has gone up a little bit in 10 years. Instead of $240, they are now $325, but I will put them on my shopping list.

My local source in the Dallas area (and now San Antonio), MotoLiberty ( carries these boots, and they do sell online. The US distributor for Sidi is MotoNation ( and you could also buy them there. They do come in European sizes, so make sure you know your size before ordering online.

Re: Boots

I bought TWO pairs of Sidi boots off of ebay. One in new and the other in near new condition. I paid $100-$200 LESS than I could have gotten them for in ANY store.

Nice to find the best boots money can buy AND turn a deal!
