Shoei Noise?

I have two Shoei helmets, a RJ Air Platnium and a Multitec. When I wear the RJ Air there is silence; no noise at all. The Multitec .... that's pretty loud and gets annoying after a few hours. Earplugs my only hope or am I doing something wrong? It fits perfectly and I wear the chin mask also. All vents are closed. Thanks!
