Underwear

I was really hoping I could find some previous info so I wouldnt have to ask. I need some info on a good pair of underwear for a month long trip into Mexco next month. I wear briefs that have that seam in the back that hurt (after 3 days). Maybe someone knows of a seamless pair or another suggustion.

A little embarassed,

Gary

GO COMANDO ! ! !

Seriously, I think a place like DICKS (or a Bike Shop) would have a set of riding britches.

I personally use Boxer-Briefs (the ones MJ Uses).

Re: Underwear

Good morning Gary. I used to think UnderArmor was the way to go, but at the end of a long day they just seemed to be to tight. At CCR I won the auction on two pair of LD Comfort shorts. I just wore them on my first trip and what a difference. The elastic in the waist and legs was comfortable and actually gave a little bit as I sat on the bike and moved around in the saddle, but didn't creep at all. They length goes down to just a little above the knees. They are not inexpensive at $44.98 a pair, but they sure a comfortable.

Re: Underwear

I have one pair of UnderArmor and I do like them. I also have a pair of (I think) EVO or something like that. They are compression shorts with a chamois in the crotch to pull away sweat. I like to ride in them but getting off the bike makes you think you got a diaper on.
Have any of you tried the "Wickers" brand? They have one called "Biker" shorts.

Re: Underwear

LD Comfort and bicycle shorts provide good padding, but beware -- they're HOT in the summer. You can work up a good sweat in those things. I've got both, and don't use either one any more.

UnderArmor isn't the best for me either because I can feel the seams.

I now prefer the BMW functional underwear. http://www.sierrabmw.bigstep.com/cat...?UCIDs=1287291

100% silk boxers are the only thing that works for me, summer or winter. I normally wear jockey's, but for riding the silk boxers are the only thing that is seamless enough and keeps me aired out. In the summer I wear a pair a pair of under armour trainer shorts over the silk and then my mesh pants. Works for me and my butt is all bone.

Re: Underwear

I have 2 pair of the short LDComfort and 1 pair of the long.

Very nice. In hot weather they wick any moisture away and let it evaporate.

The pack small.

At night you can wash them, wring them out, and they'll be dry in the morning. I have a "sample size" of Tide I bring on trips.

If you have a mesh bag, you can put the drying pair in that and let it air dry during the day, and wear the other pair.

You could get away with packing 3-4 pair and soap for an indefinite period of time.

(I also have one of their tops.)

Re: Underwear

Pro Player underwear at J.C. Penny. Boxer or briefs, T-shirt or tank tops, all at resonable prices.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, Gary. Hell, I suffered with "wet" heavy cotton underwear for years under ballistic armor.

Try the 5.11 tactical line, underwear. Outstanding products. Not cheap, but well worth it. Boxers are the shit at 100 degrees F +! (Or should I say they won't make you shit)?
