Tank Bag Install Issue

Just purchased a nice Magnetic Tank Bag for my 08" LT.

Don't know what I was thinking here, but You know where I'm going with this.

Is there anyone who has installed magnets on their tupperware to accomodate a Tank Bag?

Didnt think i wanted to use straps, as where do u put them?

Thanks, Donn

Re: Tank Bag Install Issue

You might try glueing or duct taping some sheet metal pieces under the Tupperware directly below where the magnets in the tank bag set. Those are usually high strength rare earth type magnets. The extra thickness of the plastic might not be too much to affect grip. You might experiment with some plastic of the same thickness off the bike before you go to the trouble of taking the Tupperware off.

Saturday was pretty. Rode the RT on a local loop around 125 miles that afternoon. Been commuting on the GS & RT last week or so.

I always used a three-strap tank bag. Typically the front straps are arranged in a loop that goes around that 'horn' in front, and the rear strap is attached to the front seat hinge. To remove unclip the rear strap, and lift the bag off.
