Speaking of ATGATT, Fabrics, etc.

RonKMiller's recent comments about m/c gear, fabrics, textiles, etc. reminded me of a funny moment at BMW's gear seminar during the BMWMOA rally recently.

There was a question from the audience: "How frequently should we wash our BMW textile suits"? The answer, from a BMW/America national marketing-type person was (paraphrasing): "We recommend you wash your BMW textile suits every 300 miles. Dirt trapped in the fabric tends to act as an abrasive, reducing the functionality and appearance of the garment." The room broke up in laughter, as she had no idea there were many people present who would have to stop 3 times (or more) in 1 day to wash their gear under that recommendation.

Give me a break. Every 300 miles? Whose gonna do that?

Well people that ride to rallies in a cage might put on more than 300 in a season?

I expected that from Joe.

OK... I expected that from you, too.

At least I was there. I suffered mightily by going in the car but I attended and supported the BMW MOA.

I put 300 miles on the bike just going to work 3 days last week. And I went to the Honda Homecoming. Twice. On the LT. Both ways. So there.
