So it's time to think about the "next big trip" and have been thinkin' Baja.
Yes, I know - banditos, drug lords - very bad. But I have been gone there enough (not on the bike though) to know that if you don't make yourself a target, and respect the fact that your in someone else's country, you should be good. I know, a $20,000 bike is a pretty big "target".
Anyone out there toured the entire length, Tecate to Cabo on a road bike?
If so, I'd really like to know where/when/how you went. As you can imagine, the web is pretty sparse on all the small towns south of the border and would really appreciate the insight of those that have done it. Where ya stayed, where you'd stay if ya did it again, how safe you felt in certain areas, etc.
I have skimmed through advrider and Horizons Unlimited and found allot of GS riders doing dirt roads/trails and such. Not much for the "Touring Bike" crowd and pavement riding.
There's gotta be someone here that has done it and I'd love to hear from ya.
Thank's for your time.
* I did see a posting here from last year by Moot. I have a PM out to him but have not heard back.
