Pixs from riding "The Kanac"
It was a perfect fall day, sunshine, little wind, temps in the upper 70s, low 80s, low humidity.
Areas that were in shade along the mountain road were a lot cooler; colder air from the mountain tops sank into valleys, with the normal earthy smells they pick up. Areas of dense pine trees gave off the pine aroma. Some of the valleys had the scent from fallen leaves soaked with moisture. All familiar to me from when I lived in New England during the fall.
There weren't any leaves on the road; no moisture on the road; the washed out sections had been repaired; I didn't see any gravel bits on the road.
I road some at an easy pace in 4th around 4K RPM; rode some for more fun in 3rd around 5K. The end of the Kanac has a nice downhill hairpin followed by some nice S curves. The are many areas to pull off to enjoy the view--no cars along the side of the road.
A nice covered bridge in Conway NH.
