Colorado in July

I'm planning our trip for this summer to Colorado. We just bought a Bunkhouse camper to pull behind the LT, and need plans. I'm thinking of staying in Estes Park for a few days as home base. Would also like to see Mesa Verde. Looking for advice on what to see, where to go (or not to go) and great rides. We are not shoppers, and prefer the local fare for eats. Any advice will be appreciated! Leaving MN 6-30 or 7-1 and taking 10-14 days total.

Re: Colorado in July

That area sees kind of heavy traffic in the summer........
Was the only place I ever overheated my LT................

Fireworks show in Ouray! Trying to make it myself, lots of fun! Very cool place to hang out for a couple of days. Lots of very nice/scenic roads and loops to ride out of there.....I miss Ouray!!!

That, and the clutch in the mountains pulling a trailer are what I'm worried about!

Maybe we should come after Labor Day when things are more normal.

Then I need another idea for July...

Re: Colorado in July

I can tell you that when we and John Z (Tech Guru) rode the Rockies on the way out to CCR-Utah that his bike clutch did fine with him pulling a trailer with contents of 350 lbs from Poudre River to Mesa Verde!
