Smile Edmonton to Astoria and back

Highway 25 in Washington state
Almost no traffic, good scenery, nice winding road, good pavement.
Just south of the grand coulee Damm enjoyed the scenery, Nast headwinds coming from the mountains.
Small American towns with maybe one gas station.
Stopped at a coffee shop in creston, glanced down the street and saw no more so figured I better dive in.
Three gold wings and one lt from alberta already there.
Great food.
Leavens worth Washington is an example of how to save a dying town. An idea and the whole town participated, absolutely awesome on all fronts, great food, accommodation and atmosphere.
Highly recommend the enzian inn.

Thumbs up Re: Edmonton to Astoria and back

Left leavens worth this morning after being serenaded by an alphorn Bläser.
Took 97 south. Wake up cowboy, time to carve some curves. Keep it at 5000 rpm, just enough to keep me happy and the wife on edge. Then onto 821 south through a nice canyon along the Yakima river. Saw a deer in the river cooling off.
Very nice run. Next west on 12 great road. From Randall we went south on 25 around the east side of my St. Helens. 64 miles of putting the dragon to shame.
At the end I just wanted it to be over with. The only other road like that was in Mexico, five hours of twisted. At cougar the locals told me they scrape one rider a week off of the road with a couple of deaths each year. We finally made it to cannon beach in Oregon and just watched the sun go down. So far 4 days 2000 kms. Roughly eight hours riding today. A very nice easy going day.
