Question Laser alert function turned on or off?

I'm a newbie to radar detectors and I just bought a Beltronics STi for my bike and noticed I'm getting a LOT of false alerts with it. This detector is hardwired to my newly installed fuse block FZ1, so this may be causing the RF interference or noisy power, so I'm not sure if this is to be expected.

My question is since Laser is pretty much zero warning, should I simply disable that band and accept the detector's limited use?
Its rare for me to speed more than 5 over posted, and primarily bought this unit for touring as an alert to keep me aware while taking in the scenery.

Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Laser alert function turned on or off?

I quite using mine because I found in case of the laser, it just told me I got a ticket. I also feel that along with the GPS it distracted me. Too many things wanting my attention. I almost ran in the back of a Simi while trying to discern the signal coming from unit.

Thanks, I'm thinking if your detector is falsing alerts like mine, then you probably made the right decision. These extra gadgets on a bike definitely requires much more caution while riding. I've made it a point to only breifly zoom my GPS unit when there's no traffic around me, after having a similar close call several years ago. As for typing directions on my GPS.. I only do that while stopped, since that's on par with texting/distracted driving.
