R1200GS Adventure available in Iowa

Gina's BMW in Iowa City, Iowa has one new R1200GS Adventure in stock. They are not selling it until after an upcoming open house but it's there to view and test ride! I haven't gotten up there yet but I'll be stopping by in a couple weeks to take a gander at it.

"Is this Heaven?"

"No, its... "

Sorry, couldn't resist.

It sure is interesting to see more and more R12GS-ADV ride reports coming in. Seems to be about 60%/40% who either love it, or get their deposit back and go for a standard R12GS.

I guess that this is probably good news on both fronts. The new standard GS must be one stellar bike. Personally I don't want to ride either. My 1150 ADV meets my needs currently, and I don't have the strongest of willpower after test riding new bikes!

I doubt very much if I will be buying one of these new bad-boys. I just like to look anymore. If I get another bike in the near future it will be a used GS or a V-strom. Truthfully I don't mind buying used. I like to work on them and if something already has a few scratches on it then I don't worry as much about it.

The difference between committed and involved is like a ham and egg breakfast, the chicken was involved...the pig was committed!
