20-50 Castrol cycle oil in 1997 R850R

I pulled the Mobil one 20-50 out of the 1997 r850r and put in the reg. motercycle 20-50 from Castrol. The bike runs smoother and less noisy with the Dino-oil. Purr's like a kitten. She just turned 12,000 miles. New back tire ,new back brake pads and tranny &rear end gear oil. One nice oldschool BMW.

Always heard that these boxer engines run quieter with dino. Same goes with Harleys, too.
Enjoy the 97. Someday it will be a classic. Had an '86 R650 single sided swing arm model for a couple of years. I was younger and wanted faster, so it went away. Wished I'd kept it now. tomp dd50

No, the fact is the engine runs smoother and quieter with any new oil as opposed to the old oil you've just drained.

This is exactly like testifying that the new tires you've just installed are better than those you've just taken off.

Brand new syn. pulled and dino put in was less noisy in some bikes. Allso syn. in some engines can make them oil users. I have had bikes and cars that lose syn. oil and its not leaking. Nothing wrong with dino and the older R858R likes it and the oil glass is staying steady. The oil glass Gennie is gone . The bike just hit 12,300 miles.
