Help for R 1200CL

Hi All,
Here is the deal got a 2004 R 1200cl, been sitting for a while, 4-6 months. Charged up the Batt, removed old gas and tried to start her up. No joy, checked the fuse's fuel pump one burned out, changed. Tried again no joy. Pulled fuel pump and replaced pump and fuel filter. Ok, now she started and ran for a minuet ot 2. Tried to restart no joy, checked fuse and the fuel pump fuse is burned out. Ok any ideas what the problem is ??????

Thanks Jim in Las Vegas

Re: Help for R 1200CL

Might start by being sure you're using the correct size fuse...

I just looked in my owners manual and it doesn't say what size fuse if for the fuel pump..
Maybe it says on the fuseblock itself....

Other than that you're probably looking for some pinched/frayed wiring somewhere..

It's entirely possible some critters have been chewing on your wiring while your bike was put up for 6 months.
Solution: find and fix the bad wire and never park your bike for that long again.
