R1200CLC Cross Reference Air Filter

Hi All, Does anyone know the cross reference for the air filter BMW 1372134255 for the R1200CLC? I am looking for a Fram, AC, wal-mart etc...I would like to be able to go to my local auto store or wal mart, and pickup the air filter. If you know a cross reference number for and air filter that will work please let me know? I already had offers for a K & N filter and that is not one I am looking to use on my bike. Thanks for your help!!!!!

Re: R1200CLC Cross Reference Air Filter

Karl, I deleted my old account at Chromeheads and am waiting for approval of my new one so I'll respond here. I think you're SOL. I did a few searches and it doesn't look like anyone at Chromeheads has ever posted they've found one and I've back-referenced the K&N part number to see what other bikes it's compatible with ............ none. And their cross-reference links back only to the BMW PN.

If you plan on keeping the bike for more than two filter changes (12K more miles) the K&N may be the best option anyway if the only alternative is OEM, particularly considering you should have the cleaner and oil for your other K&N filtered vehicles. You'd be doing the next owner a favor as well since BMW won't be obligated to make the OEMs available in a few years.

Re: R1200CLC Cross Reference Air Filter

Hi Hillcruiser, I believe your right and that there is no other cross reference for this filter. I am going to NAPA today and see what I can find and if NAPA does not have a cross reference I will be buying the K & N Filter.

Re: R1200CLC Cross Reference Air Filter

Hi All, I went this morning to NAPA and Blains Farm and Fleet and found nothing no cross reference for this air filter. Fram does not even carry BMW Motorcycle filters...So I am going to clean my old filter and put it back in. Next season I will buy a new filter. Thanks all for your help and if you should come across a filter that will work please let me know....

ABout the best your going to do is to order one from one of the on line suppliers..

I myself wouldn't use a K&N. It's my understanding they don't filter out the really fine stuff.
And when they get clogged up then you've got another set of issues..
The paper filter can be blown out and re-used at least once...

Sometimes it's best to just pony up for the real part..

Re: R1200CLC Cross Reference Air Filter

Hi John, I agree with you I just completed blowing out the air filter and replaced it. I will just buy another one next season. I am just in the learning stage with this type of motorcycle so this is another learning curve. Thanks

Have you tried Beemer Boneyard? Lot cheaper than dealer usually. Good people to deal with. Looks like $17.95 for the 1200C's filter.
