Looking at a 2000 R1200 C, Any insight?

We are looking at a 2000 R1200C. It has only 3200 miles on it, looks flawless. The dealer did the 12k service on it, replace the fuel pump and injectors as it sat so long. Is there anything else I should look for? Any pros and cons on the bike in general? I was planning on flying in and if I liked it I would ride it the 1500 miles home.

I am not sure when the change happend. Early models have one sparkplug per cylinder and have an anoying engine surge. The dual plugs cured that problem. Besides that I enjoyed my 98 model.

Man, you won't regret it! The R1200C is an awesome ride!

Yes, the Chromeheads, named for the chrome heads, is the place to go for all you ever wanted to know about the C. Also, that surging "problem" is discussed at length and there is plenty of info about correction methods for what is really an irritation more than a problem so don't let that dissuade you. I bought my C just over two years ago and have been extremely pleased with her. Flew out to Indiana from Maine to drive home and had a great introductory ride ...

And if you do buy it, welcome to the world of Chromeheads

Another C fan here. I have a Ducati, an RT and an '04 C. The C is a different ride than the others in that it is and always will be what it was designed to be, specifically a cruiser. Between the three bikes, the C draws more compliments, thumbs up at stop lights, etc. If you can get the right price on it, I say go for it. You will find it to be a fun machine.

C's are the bees knees man....Only "Cool" bikes BMW ever made.

It's value will only go up from here as long as it's kept in good shape...

Jump on her and ride.

Re: Looking at a 2000 R1200 C, Any insight?

Well, I flew into Phoenix for work on Monday, checked out the bike at the dealer that night and decided it was a done deal. I left Tuesday morning ridding it the 1,400 miles home. I arrive home on Wednesday night. What a great ride. Thanks everyone for your input.
