1994 R1100RS Recent purchase. 25,000 miles needs tire, brakes etc, and exhaust returned to stock. I don't believe that loud pipes save lives. I am looking forward to use it as a commuter and short distance bike in addition to my 1999 K1200LT.

Re: What type and year R bike do you ride?

2000 R1100R

Fun bike. Wicked roll-on tourque. Got it as a back up bike but the dang thing is so much fun I find myself commuting on it about half the time. I was also very suprised that it's a decent touring machine. Discovered that when I took it on a medium length trip last month. It's no LT but no complaints here.

But the wife won't ride on back after just two test rides. Seems I popped the clutch a little too much and scared the crap out of her with no back support. She's used to the couch on our LT.

Oh did I mention that, relative to our LT, it feels like a feather? Very cool.

My first R bike was a 1973 R75/5 with a Wixom Fairing (sorry, no picture).
My current ride is an '05 R1200RT - stock except for handlebar setbacks.

Re: What type and year R bike do you ride?

Hello everybody

First of all, I would like to say that I fond of bikes. I am crazy about bikes. I love to go for a long ride.

I have 995 BMW R1100R. The price of its $5085 approx.

It is big, heavy and gangly looking, but handles deceptively well and it is as practical and long-lasting as a Ford F150 pickup. I just love my bike more than anything.

Re: What type and year R bike do you ride?

I ride a 2007 R1200S with Ohlins shocks, ABS, BST CF wheels, tank bag, and a Zumo 660.

I also have the BMW bags for it, when touring, I took it to Johnson City, Tn this year for the MOA Rally.

Nice looking bike! I have the BMW tank Bag, but not the rears. Do you know of any available sources - I'm having trouble finding them.

Re: What type and year R bike do you ride?

I just bought a 2002 R1150RS on March 6, 2010. Bought it on eBay from a dealership in Jacksonville. Flew up that Saturday morning, drove her down 360 miles back home to Fort Lauderdale. The bike handled and rode like a dream. Only soreness is in my hands.

This is my solo bike. Love the light weight and ability to investigate all the unpaved roads around the area. Still use the Lt for long distance and those rare occasions when the wife goes along.

Re: What type and year R bike do you ride?

Hi folks, have just joined BMW Luxury Touring Community.

Currently own a '00 R1100RT and and '88 R100RS, over the years have owned an R65, an R100/7 and an R100LT (amongst other diverse machines, about 24 bikes since 1970). I look forward to chatting with folks on the forum.
