Question R850-R Feedback please...!

As a second bike (spare) I am looking at a few R850-R and I wanted to get some feedback from owners and previous owners on that bike.
Any known issues? The bikes I am looking at are in the 80-100k miles for 1997 models.
They are priced from $2,000-3,000.
Any help would be appreciated!
This would be in addition to my 05 LT.

Re: R850-R Feedback please...!

I have a 97 with 45K. Haven't had a single issue thus far. In fact it became settled in after about 30K. Didn't really surge, but a little tight till then. It is very comfortable and peppy. I didn't care for the oem windshield so I currrently have a national cycle little guy on it which i prefer. After performing a valve adjustment and throttle body sync it is incredibly smooth. The only question I would have is whether an extra few bucks would get one with quite a few less miles. I have seen around 30K for under 4 thousand. And with high miles it wouldn't take many parts to eat up the extra bucks. Hope this helps.

Re: R850-R Feedback please...!

Thank you Brian. I'll keep looking for a lower mileage machine.
