A couple of years ago my "Rider Information System" (RID) went blank - I could BARELY find any info on it, hell at the time I didn't know what it was called. But IIRC the solution was to pull the fuse for a bit and the RID would reset.
Fast forward to today, go get the GS inspected and during the brake test, ABS kicked in - cuz I like to squeeze hard
. Anyway after that my RID was blank so I pulled over and pulled the fuse for it, and stuck it back in - no joy. Okay, I'll just pull it and ride home, maybe by then it will reset.
Lo and behold, I get on, turn the key, and I have my RID working w/o a fuse in the socket!
So what was the fuse I pulled? I get home, checked the manual, yep I pulled the "RID Power Socket" fuse (3rd from the outside standing on the left of the bike).
I cannot figure out what the fuse what that I pulled
. Riding w/o the fuse didn't seem to have any effect on the bike (I wasn't to worried about it being the wrong fuse as I have a taped diagram on the inside of the fuse box cover in case of a roadside repair
I tried advrider, google, and all the other usual suspects - any gurus out there got an answer?
