While I am patiently waiting for the gentleman selling a K1200LT to get the title cleared, I have been reading up here. In the meantime, I thought I'd post a few pics of my current BMW. It's a 1977 R75/7. It has the following accoutrements:
Luftmeister "side-saddle" aux tanks
Mayer "Day-Long" saddle (pre-Russell)
Reynolds ride-off centerstand (I don't)
In other words, it would have been an R75RT if there was such a thing in 1977.
The bike has around 80,000 miles on it. I've only put a thousand or so on it, and the owner before me only put a couple thousand on. I would love to find the person who put the original 70K on. I'm sure he or she has some wonderful stories and recommendations for great places to ride.
I'd be commuting on it today except I'd miss getting the traffic reports, and it needs a new clutch plate. Other than that, it runs like a top. In fact, when I rode a new R1150RT a couple years ago, I decided it had similar ergos, handling, and even engine sound to my beloved old airhead.
