Saw one yesterday at the Colorado Springs dealer. Very nice. Doubt it will be there long.

The best looking motorcycle in the line up IMO. I'm still having a hard time with the new styling and this is somewhat traditional so to speak.

Went to the open house at the local dealership in Fife, Washington, over the weekend. After seeing a price of 15,900 for a 1200R with accessories I was very disappointed. As much as I like BMW I cannot justify that kind of money for a naked bike. Looks like I'll be heading for the VStrom at almost half the price. Even with a base price of 12,600 it is still way too much.

Saw one a couple of days ago at the dealership and REALLY liked it! I might get beat up here ... but it looks a lot better than the 1150r. Wonder if they'll make a "Rockster" version? You are right though ... $12.6k for a naked bike?

But up until now the R1150R was the best looking in the line up IMO.

I ride an R1150R and the new R1200R, other than the instrument panel, looks pretty much the same. What's the difference in terms of how the bike looks?

Thanks!

New R1200R

I just bought one of these and since it is my first BMW I cannot answer your questions in terms of comparison to older models.

What I can tell you is that the bike is light and fast, and handles really well. I have midnight black with traditional white pinstrips, heated grips, on board computer, abs, and I threw on a tank bag.

I have had it about 3 weeks and barely put 300 miles on it (raining darn it) but I cannot wait to get on it.
