Kinda looks like an RT with no bags and a smaller fairing. Probably lighter, therefore faster, maybe lower and it has usable rear view mirrors!

Velocity is running BMW commercials. Not sure if that's the bike because they only give you a quick glimpse of it.

Those of us riding K1600 bikes already know that.

And many of those that are still stuck on the LT haven't quite figured that out yet . . .

It's close but it ain't no LT. Wife said it's almost as comfortable. It's more fun than the LT though.

Hear hear, Michael. For the rider it may be "close" [cough cough] ... but for the pillion, not even close. Yes, the 1600's powerplant is funner than the LT's. But the LT is simply in a class all by itself, and I doubt that BMW, or any other manufacturer will ever match it.

And all this being said by a current Concours14 rider, as some of you are well aware.

As all of us are well aware with you, Joe.

I'm curious as to what was the exact impression that your wife had? Was it seat, seating position, wind protection, peg placement, what?

Re: 2015 BMW Sports Tourer

All of our club pillions pan the 1600 compared to the LT. So far, only one of those couples has acquired a 1600 but they kept the LT for longer rides.
Don't expect it to ever be popular with those who've experienced the back of the LT.

Oh, none of those pillions are "Harley-sized" girls.

Re that new bike- just one more BMW that won't have the ergonomics preferred by most of us. Wonder how many parts and $ it will take to fix that one. Getting tired of having to do so much to rather expensive machines. Anyone want to bet whether its the first one with a sidestand that can be used on dirt or grass?

Hi George,

I guess you missed where I said 'proper' replacement.

Actually, 23,000 very enjoyable kms on my Triumph Trophy - with no need for replacement seats, screens, or anything else - would suggest that Triumph have stepped up to fill the gap.

If that were available today, I would trade my RT for it. Better looking, less gadgets, and less expensive I'm guessing. The the kind of riding I do, it will probably be a great bike for me.
