Shifting RPMs

I,m new here so forgive me if i start a thread that has been started several times.
I have a 1994 BMW K1100lt and i need some rpm shifting advise. 1st-5th gear.
I noticed today on my way home that while i was in 4th gear running around 60 mph that the engine seemed to be in a sweet spot, very quite running. Am i damaging the engine?
What RPM shoud i run in third/fourth and when to shift to 5th. Thank you .

Re: Shifting RPMs

I have found that I like to avoid 4000 rpms Mine gets a little buzzy. The power curve on your bike is 4500-7500 so you are in a great running rpm. I will run in fifth at 60 then at 70 I am running 4K so to avoid the buzz I will go back in 75 and up I am back in 5th
