Help Oil Burning following dealer 36k service

Need some ideas guys!!!
Had my 05 KLT 36K Dealer service two weeks ago (bike has actually 44k on it.
It's been on the center stand since I brought it back from the dealer (only has maybe 150 miles since service)

Started it up and it is smoking like a coal powered locomotive (blue oil smoke)
Sight oil gauge reads 1/2 glass at idle and full with engine off.

Did they over fill the engine oil???

Ideas will be appreciated as I will be returning to the dealer Monday.

Happy Easter

Does it quit smoking after running a few minutes? If so, I'd guess it's the commonly known brick engine smoke at start up issue. If it smokes all the time then it is another issue.
