looking for basic info on bike

hi my sister has inherited a bmw motorcycle its a 1982 r100 the bike is near perfect as it was stored inside and has 3700 miles on it she would like to sell the bike but we have no idea of the value , while she would make someone a good deal for a fast sale she doesnt want to get hosed , can anyoine tell me a fair value for the bike and were to market / sell it any info would be appriciated

I briefly looked through the classifieds at BMWMOA




and the Airheads


looks like a price between $4,000 and $5,000 is the ballpark. An old, low mileage bike may raise concerns about the condition of engine seals, lubricants, tires, etc.

Yes, just because is is super low miles (this bike is not even broken in) does not mean it is wonderful. It will be in the higher value of course, but much of the rubber items will need to be replaced. Start at $6 or 7 grand area and see what you get. I think both parties would be getting a fair deal at even 7500 bucks. Airheads are valuable and no way should you let this go for 4k.
