K100 lt shock adjustment

I'm a new owner of an 87 K100lt. Thanks to this community I promptly dealt with all of the suggested maintenance and after putting a hundred miles on today I feeling like I made a great purchase.
My question concerns the Boge rear shock. I don't see any means of adjustment although I've read the preload can be adjusted. Any more info would be appreciated.

Re: K100 lt shock adjustment

Sorry to put a kink in your adjustment plans, but the early KLT's shocks are not adjustable at all. These shocks were called Nivomats that were supposed to adjust themselves as they went down the road. They actually worked pretty well for 3 to 4 years, but after that they were marginal. I recommend contacting WORKS shocks for a replacment.

Re: K100 lt shock adjustment

Thanks Jim. I thought I was missing something. I guess I'll start saving for a Works.
