93 K1100LT ABS1 bleeding

OK ! here goes LOL

Another buddy of mine has an 93 K1100LT that he rebuilt the rear master on it since it was leaking a little fluid after sitting a little. Well the master was bench bled & installed on the bike & no matter how he tries to bleed the system , it won`t pump up. He tried a mighty vac bleeding tool and some other things but it still has no petal. He read in the factory service manual that if brakes need to be bleed, bring it to the factory service center to have this done. Is there a reason they say that or is the a special tool or something that connects to the ABS computer to open some valves or something.

Probably true, go to K11org for more technical info.

My personal experience,
when I bled the brakes I had an ABS fault couldn't reset it.
The dealer hooked up the computer and "cycled" the pump,
fixed it and took all of ten minutes.

I was going to join but need a three digit code off the bike & i don`t own a BMW (yet) so it won`t let me join. OH well , i thought it would be a good site but no bike no go.

Thanks for the info , i`ll just ask my stuff here.

I"m a mod over at K11OG. The secret code at K11OG is "BMW" - it's there to prevent automated spambots from registering and wreaking havoc.

When you register, put something in the hobbies section of your profile (e.g. motorcycle riding) so we can easily tell you're a real person.

One trick for bleeding the rear is to remove either the pegplate or just the master cylinder and point the rear of the master cylinder upwards. Bleed at the ABS modulator first, then the caliper.
