Sold LT#2

Ted sold my 2000 LT yesterday at A&S BMW. Now I'm wondering what to do with my other bike, the F650GS. Colby doesn't have time to use it as he is still in high school and also working a lot at Jamba Juice(and driving his new car.) I've been thinking that I may send the GS back to Maine this June in my brothers moving truck and use it for transportation back there a couple times a year now. I can store it under the old house and go to Portland for servicing. There are lots of dirt roads and many small towns nearby to explore. And when Colby(son) is back there, he'll also have something to ride.
Anyway, sitting here thinking at the keyboard because I couldn't make it to the hddc this week. Dangerous thing this thinking stuff.

I didn't make it to HDDC either. The crew tomorrow will be tearing down the office wall. So I had to get stuff out of there to create space for them to work.

Hey Bob. That was my first LT. It was a '01 Pacific Blue that I bought in Aug. '01. I crashed and totalled it on March 17th '04. I got my second LT 7 months later. It was a '00 Champagne. I rode it until last November when I bought Raffy's '04 Night Black.

It was a good running LT too. I put around 28k on it the 13 months that I used it. I was planning on keeping that LT a little longer though and put another 30k plus miles on it before looking for a loaded LT to take back to Colorado and Missouri and Maine several times in the next few years. But, when Raffy decided to sell his '04, I couldn't really see waiting for another likely opportunity like this one. After all, I have a neighbor who only lives a few blocks away that knows everything about my bike. And treats me kinda better than good, I might add. Thanks Raffy.

As I'm sitting here about to get off the computer, I'm taking the day off to ride up to Cottonwood. See Marty, an ex bro-in-law, about his move to Missouri this May. He's going to order some boxes from me. And I get to see some 30 goats of his for the last probable time before he moves. Oh yeah! He's planning on renting a 26' U-Haul and pulling the goats all that way to Missouri. He just loves those things. He may have a good name for a book after this adventure. "Three days with 30 goats".

'82 Yamaha for sale-Cottonwood

I went up to Cottonwood yesterday. Marty is selling a lot of stuff. He has a motorcycle that he wants to sell. It is a 1982 Yamaha XJ750RJ. He has had it six years and put about 100 miles on it. He said the carburator is bad. It only has 8850 original miles and looks real good. He wants $1500., but will probably take less. Anybody know about this bike? I did a Google search and it appears it was a good touring bike for its day.

I don't want or need it but thought someone locally might be interested. Probably a good idea to take it to a Yamaha dealership and have new tires, fluids, carb, etc. done for roadworthyness. Even with $1k or more invested after purchase, it should be a good opportunity for someone. It looks a lot newer than the year it was built. It's just a little dusty but it doesn't look like it's ever been down or dropped. The dust comes with it.

Anyone interested could go with John on March 4th to see it. Marty only lives a few miles for Rick Meyer's house. I'll probably go with John that day anyway.

I'll post this in classifieds here but thought I'd find out a little more about this bike first. I'm only offering help to Marty and will not profit from this. Just a fine human being I am.
