Colorado Road Suggestions Please

The wife and I are headed for Colorado on the RT for the long weekend and I'm looking for some road suggestions from the experts.

I'm planning to take US50 over to Northern Utah and then to start exploring Colorado from the South. We'll have roughly 4 days there to play and enjoy. So start throwing them "can't miss / must ride" roads at me so I can put a plan together and build a route.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Colorado Road Suggestions Please

There is a bunch of awesome riding in Utah as well. Zion, Bryce, highways 12 and 24, etc. Sample of few of those goodies on your way, it will be easy if you're coming across 50 into Utah.

On the ride the CCR in 2004 John took us on a road in Southern Utah/Colorado called the Black Canyon of the Gunnison (sp) It is amazing. HUGE sweepers and breathtaking scenery.

Re: Colorado Road Suggestions Please

The BEST road in all of Colorado is Hwy 141 which runs from Whitewater (just south of Grand Junction) to Naturita. Trust me, having lived in Colorado for 15 years and having ridden EVERY STATE HWY at least twice, this is one of the best roads you will ride. No traffic, law enforcement, or decreasing radius corners. Just wonderful pavement.

Don't know if it's open yet, but you might want to check out Trail Ridge over Rocky Mountain National Park.............And a total X2 with Raymond.............It's all good...............

Re: Colorado Road Suggestions Please

Thanks all, sounds like some great riding!

We'll be focusing on Colorado this trip. We put the first 4k miles on the RT in Utah last year and it was great!

Keep those roads coming, we love to ride so we'll cover quite a bit of territory.
