...Comes from some other beginning's end.
I am as sad as anyone to see Raffy hang up his gloves and boots. I've enjoyed every ride, rally, CCR, tech session, and random events of mayhem I have shared with him. The great thing is he's an awesome friend and a great guy and I know we'll all continue to have a great time hanging out with him! Raffy, you rock!!!
So, I'm the lucky guy who picked up Raffy's HyperMotard this afternoon. While I know he was sad to see it go, I am absolutely pumped to have this bike. I have had a Ducati lust for a couple of years now and fell in love with this bike the first time I saw it. Raffy has it set up pretty much exactly as I would have done it; I just need a mount for my GPS (and probably my V1
) and I'm good to go! I am really looking forward to hitting the backroads on this thing, it is going to be a blast!
In case you're wondering, I sold the GS Adventure last week. It went to an excellent home; the guy who bought it is an insanely avid rider (6 bikes in the garage, well, 7 now) and is active in the LD community, having completed Saddlesores, BunBurners, a 50CC, and competed in the Cal24 last year. He fell in love with the GSA as soon as he saw it and intends to make it his primary ride for LD stuff, commuting, etc. He has a really nicely rigged up FJR1300 that this will take the place of. So expect to see it rolling around the roads for years to come.
Raffy - Thanks for the opportunities to get my hands on both of these bikes, I have and will enjoy them!
