Elk Grove Harley

I guess you guys have all heard, Elk Grove Harley is closing August 15th? Another business bites the dust in our turbulent economic times.

Ride fast. Take chances.

Sorry to see them go, nice to deal with on stuff. But weren't they a branch dealership of Sac HD?

Yes, same owners. HD is asking dealers that own more than one dealership in a metro area to close stores...

Re: Elk Grove Harley

Sorry to hear about the dealer consolidation. And I noticed in the same article about restaurant closings in our hddc area.

Restaurants skid

The dining scene in the Sacramento-to-Modesto region lost 115 restaurants over the year ended March 31, according to a recent market study. That constitutes a 1.6 percent drop, slightly more than the national dip of 1 percent during the same period.

I 'm almost sure it won't be Vince's, Waterloo or Fosters.

I don't know how right I am on this, but I think Elk Grove was merely a Harley "store", not a full fledged dealership.

Check the announcement on their website:

http://www.hdelkgrove.com/

I wonder how this will effect Folsom, Rocklin and Amador Harleys?

It's a large stand alone building with parts, bike sales and service. Sounds like a dealership to me...

I wouldn't be surprised to see either Rocklin or Folsom go away.

Re: Elk Grove Harley

I was speaking about "dealership" in the eyes of Harley Davidson. I know for certain Amador Harley is not a "dealership", just a store or outlet of Folsom Harley. Am pretty certain Elk Grove bears the same relationship to Sacramento Harley. There is usually only one franchise for any given geographical area.

I would be surprised to see Rocklin HD close. It still has a pretty strong and employed poseur demographic.
